Brandon Semenuk has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in both rally racing and mountain biking. While most drivers in rally racing are limited in their drive time due to the risks associated with the sport, Semenuk goes above and beyond to make up for it. Not only does he compete in a second sport, but he also dedicates his spare time to watching footage to improve his skills.
According to his colleague Howard, Semenuk’s dedication is awe-inspiring. “The dude is non-stop. It’s very motivating to hang out with someone like that. Our daily routine…we’d wake up in the morning, quick bite and then go ride for two hours. And then lunchtime comes around and he is on his computer watching the upcoming stages and writing notes. And he’ll do that for two hours. Just the in-car GoPro.”
Although Semenuk gained fame for his mountain biking prowess, his interest in rally racing began during his early teens. He was captivated by the Subaru team cars whizzing by on the fire-safe roads near where he was building mountain bike trails.
