# Vingegaard Claims Fourth Stage Victory at Giro d’Italia
In a stunning display of determination and teamwork, Jonas Vingegaard of Team Visma | Lease a Bike secured his fourth stage victory in this year’s Giro d’Italia. Elated, the 29-year-old rider remarked, “This is really incredible. My teammates and I were extremely motivated. We had set ourselves the goal of winning a stage in the pink jersey during the final week of this Giro d’Italia. We seized the first opportunity with both hands.”
From the outset in Bellinzona, Team Visma | Lease a Bike established control over the race. Multiple groups made attempts to break away but were consistently thwarted. Eventually, a quintet of riders managed to form a lead, yet the team ensured they didn’t gain any significant advantage. Key contributions from teammates Timo Kielich, Tim Rex, and Bart Lemmen set the stage for Victor Campenaerts, who drove a fierce pace up the final climb.
As the riders approached the summit finish at Carì, the earlier attackers were reeled in, leaving a select group of favorites in the lead. Reflecting on the race, Vingegaard stated, “It was a beautiful but demanding final climb. The team did an amazing job today. We stayed attentive from the start and never really gave the breakaway a chance. We rode the final climb at a very high pace, and after that I had to finish it off. I’m happy that I could once again repay my teammates for all their hard work.”
With this victory, Vingegaard marks a career milestone, achieving four stage wins in a single Grand Tour for the first time. The excitement isn’t over yet, as tomorrow promises another challenging stage in northern Italy, concluding in Andalo after a grueling 202 kilometers.
