Dylan Teuns Secures Third Place in Rain-Soaked Third Stage at Tour de Luxembourg

Dylan Teuns showed incredible determination and skill despite the extreme weather conditions on stage three of the Tour de Luxembourg. The Belgian cyclist climbed to third place on the stage, elevating him to third place overall in the general classification.

The challenging queen stage of the Tour de Luxembourg offered an opportunity for climbers and puncheurs to gain an advantage over time trial specialists in the overall standings. The peloton accelerated from the first climb, intensifying the pace. After catching the breakaway, Ben Healy of EF-Education First launched a solo attack. Eventually, Marc Hirschi of UAE attacked on the final categorised climb, and Teuns had the vision to follow. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t catch Healy, who took the stage win. Hirschi made a final push in the last meters, leaving Teuns in third place for the day.

Teuns commented on the race, saying, “It was a super hard stage because of the weather, it was very extreme again with a lot of rain, and the climb on the circuit was really hard. It was just a matter of picking the right moment to follow the right attack. When I was able to, we still had to chase Healy, and we couldn’t quite catch him.”

While Teuns is content with his third-place finish, he knows he has more to give. He said, “In the end, third is good, and there’s still two days ahead to get a good place on GC, so we will see how the next days go.”

Sports Director Oscar Guerrero expressed his satisfaction with Teuns’ performance and the team’s response to the challenging stage. He said, “I’m very happy with the performance of the team again today. We had good spirit, and I’m happy with Dylan, as he fought until the last meter to win the stage.”

The upcoming stage features a 24-kilometer time trial, which could determine the overall winner of the Tour de Luxembourg.
