The highly anticipated Tour de Romandie kicked off today with an intense prologue in Villars-sur-Glâne, challenging riders with a brisk 3.2-kilometer time trial. Among the competitors, Axel Zingle showcased his prowess, securing a commendable fifth place.
“It’s a nice surprise that Axel has secured fifth place here,” remarked sports director Gaëtan Pons. Zingle clocked an impressive time of three minutes and 42 seconds, contributing significantly to Team Visma | Lease a Bike’s performance in the early stages of the race. Pons expressed satisfaction with the team’s results, stating, “It was a good day for us; we certainly can’t complain. This performance provides extra motivation within the team, which is great to see.”
