Exciting Tour de Wallonie Anticipated with Five Days of Action-Packed Racing

The Tour de Wallonie in Belgium promises plenty of excitement this year, with a challenging course that includes climbs made famous in Liège-Bastogne-Liège and several kilometers of cobbles. The race is expected to deliver five consecutive days of thrilling action in the French part of Belgium.

The opening stage, featuring the iconic Mur de Huy, is set to immediately test the riders’ climbing abilities and determine the general classification. The stage will be a key moment for those aspiring for the yellow jersey.

Stage two is no less demanding, with seven serious ascents, including the well-known Côte de la Redoute. Stages three and four will see the peloton tackle around 200 kilometers and 3000 meters of elevation each, while the final stage will feature a challenging 215-kilometer route with a cobbled finish.

The Tour de Wallonie is not designed for pure sprinters, showcasing the talents of climbers and all-rounders.

The Israel – Premier Tech team will be led by five WorldTour riders and two Continental riders. Sep Vanmarcke and Tom van Asbroeck will have the support of Patrick Bevin, Reto Hollenstein, and Omer Goldstein. Derek Gee and Alastair Mackellar will also join the lineup.

Omer Goldstein, the Israeli rider on the team, is eager to participate in the Tour de Wallonie after missing the Tour de France due to Covid-19. He expressed his excitement about the challenging course, stating, “I have good experiences from racing in Belgium, and I hope to add more good memories to this year’s Tour de Wallonie.”
