Lotto Dstny Aims for Success at Paris-Roubaix “Hell of the North”
Lotto Dstny is looking forward to the highly anticipated Paris-Roubaix race this Sunday as they reflect on a successful Classics’ campaign. With Arnaud De Lie making his debut and Florian Vermeersch hoping to build on his strong performance last year, the team is eager to continue their momentum.
The all-Belgian squad consisting of Cedric Beullens, Brent Van Moer, Frederik Frison, Liam Slock, Arnaud De Lie, Florian Vermeersch, and Sébastien Grignard is determined to deliver impressive performances in the final cobbled spring Classic.
Florian Vermeersch, who finished as the runner-up in 2021, expresses his growth and aspirations for the upcoming race, saying, “That podium place suddenly created really high expectations… I can still make a lot of progression.” While he remains ambitious, Vermeersch emphasizes the importance of riding a good race rather than focusing on a specific result.
Arnaud De Lie, on the other hand, approaches his first participation in the “Hell of the North” with an open mind and eagerness to learn. After exploring the course multiple times, De Lie acknowledges, “It will be one big discovery on Sunday. This is my first participation, and I have nothing to prove, but of course I want to have a good race.”
Despite the unpredictable nature of Paris-Roubaix and the significance of experience and luck, De Lie affirms his determination to fight for a satisfying outcome. Reflecting on his ability to remain calm under pressure, he highlights his previous performance at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and his intention to replicate that composure on race day.
With a strong team and a mix of seasoned riders and newcomers, Lotto Dstny is ready to tackle the challenges of Paris-Roubaix and hopes to leave with notable achievements and a sense of accomplishment.
