Pfeiffer Georgi Claims 4th Place on GC at Simac Ladies Tour
In a fiercely contested final stage of the Simac Ladies Tour, Pfeiffer Georgi showcased her strength and determination, finishing fifth on the stage and securing fourth place overall in the general classification.
Georgi’s strong performance came after a fast-paced start to the race, with multiple attacks in the bunch. Team dsm-firmenich ensured they were well-represented in any dangerous moves. Eventually, a group of around 20 riders went clear, and Georgi showed her skill and tenacity to make the split.
Despite a committed chase from the peloton, the front group managed to maintain their advantage. In the final kilometers, it became clear that the stage victory would be contested by the riders in the breakaway. Georgi positioned herself well and crossed the line in fifth place, securing her fourth place in the overall classification.
Reflecting on her performance, Georgi said, “Today was another tough day with lots of short climbs and some narrow, technical parts. I found myself in one of the attacks on the climb which became bigger as others bridged across. The girls chased really hard from behind… I think we’ve had a successful week with two stage wins with Charlotte and 4th on GC with me, so I think we can be happy!”
Team dsm-firmenich coach Kelvin Dekker praised the team’s efforts, saying, “We made some mistakes in the beginning but the team gave everything to try and correct them and really committed to it… I think we can go home happy from the race. We maybe missed that final cherry on the cake but the cake was already quite big so we can’t be too disappointed.”
Georgi’s impressive performance throughout the Simac Ladies Tour highlights her talent and potential as a rider. With two stage wins and a strong overall result, Team dsm-firmenich can be proud of their achievements in the race.
