Seventh place for Ferrand-Prévot at La Flèche Wallonne

# Ferrand-Prévot Secures Seventh at La Flèche Wallonne, Eyes Liège–Bastogne–Liège

In a competitive outing at La Flèche Wallonne, former champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot of Team Visma | Lease a Bike secured a commendable seventh place. The race saw a strong performance from the yellow-and-black squad, with Viktória Chladoňová notably joining an aggressive breakaway. Despite her impressive climbs, Chladoňová couldn’t play a decisive role in the final outcome, as the peloton maintained control.

The race’s climax unfolded dramatically on the Côte de Cherave, where the peloton fractured into smaller groups. Ferrand-Prévot found herself among the leading contenders as they approached the iconic Mur de Huy. Though positioned well for a strong finish, the French cyclist ultimately fell short in her quest for victory.

Reflecting on the day’s performance, Ferrand-Prévot praised her team’s efforts. “The team did a strong job throughout the race, which was great to see,” she remarked. Despite feeling good, she acknowledged the limitations in her explosiveness during the final climb, commenting, “I didn’t feel completely empty, but unfortunately my legs weren’t as strong as I had hoped.”

Looking ahead, Ferrand-Prévot is optimistic about the upcoming Liège–Bastogne–Liège. “Today I was missing a bit of explosiveness, but Sunday is a different kind of race. Liège–Bastogne–Liège is a tougher race over the entire day. I’m really looking forward to it,” she stated, signaling her readiness for the challenge.

The overall results from La Flèche Wallonne showcased a solid performance from various teams, with Demi Vollering from FDJ United – SUEZ clinching victory in a time of 3:53:27, closely followed by Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Premier Tech) and Paula Blasi (UAE Team ADQ). Meanwhile, Ferrand-Prévot finished 28 seconds behind the winner, adding another notable race to her spring campaign.

As the cycling world awaits the next event in Liège, fans and teammates alike will be eager to see how Ferrand-Prévot channels her energy and experience into a strong performance.
