## Michele Gazzoli Signs Contract Extension with Astana Qazaqstan Team for 2024 and 2025
Italian cyclist Michele Gazzoli has recently signed a new two-year contract with Astana Qazaqstan Team, expressing his excitement for the continued partnership. Gazzoli previously spent three months with the continental team Astana Qazaqstan Development before transitioning to the WorldTour team. He shared his enthusiasm, stating, *”I am very happy to re-sign a contract with Astana Qazaqstan Team. This team gave me an opportunity to revive after a difficult period, and for me this project is like a family that believed in me and did a lot to ensure that I was able to return to high results.”*
Gazzoli’s successful performance in the latter part of 2023 showcased his potential and solidified his position within the team. He secured notable achievements, including a stage victory and a third-place finish in the Arctic Race of Norway, and a stage win and second place overall in the Tour of Bulgaria with the development team. Additionally, Gazzoli supported race winner Alexey Lutsenko in the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey. The team’s General Manager, Alexandr Vinokurov, emphasized Gazzoli’s versatility and potential, stating, *”Michele has potential both in one–day races and in short stage races, he can also be an excellent assistant for the team leaders, both in sprints and on hilly stages.”*
