Israel – Premier Tech Ends Volta a Catalunya with Strong Performances

Israel – Premier Tech concluded a successful Volta a Catalunya with impressive performances from Corbin Strong and Michael Woods. Strong secured fourth place on the final stage, while Woods finished sixth overall.

Reflecting on his achievement, Woods expressed his satisfaction, stating, “I’m really happy to be taking a step forward again and finishing Top10 in a WorldTour stage race, which I haven’t done in a while.” He now looks forward to competing in the Ardennes Classics in April.

For Strong, the fourth-place finish in Barcelona served as a redemption after a late puncture dashed his hopes of sprinting for the win the previous day. The 22-year-old New Zealander showcased his abilities as a contender in hillier races by winning the sprint behind the three leading riders.

Strong shared his thoughts on the race, saying, “Today’s type of race is the one I saw myself doing well in before I turned professional. Unfortunately, today’s sprint was only for fourth, but I’m really happy with this result, especially after such a good team effort. I hope I can finally take a win in one of my next few races.”

The final stage of the race was won by Remco Evenepoel from Soudal – Quick Step, while Primoz Roglic from Jumbo – Visma emerged as the overall winner of the Volta a Catalunya.
