Olav Kooij Comes in Second Place in Fifth Stage of Gree-Tour of Guangxi

Olav Kooij of Jumbo-Visma showed his sprinting prowess once again in the fifth stage of the Gree-Tour of Guangxi, finishing in second place. Despite facing headwinds during the race, Kooij put up a strong fight. Maarten Wynants, the team’s sports director, praised Kooij’s performance and commented on their aspirations for the general classification.

“It was a sprint with a lot of headwind. Unfortunately, Molano just managed to get behind Olav and pass him,” said Wynants. “Milan had a good day, we are one step closer to winning the general classification.”

Tomorrow’s final stage will be similar to today’s, and Jumbo-Visma’s Milan Vader will enter the day as the leader in the general classification. Wynants expressed their clear plans to win the overall classification and emphasized the team’s progress.
