Nordhagen shows strong form with fourth place in explosive Tour de Romandie mountain stage
# Jørgen Nordhagen Shines in Demanding Tour de Romandie Mountain Stage
**Ovronnaz, Switzerland** – In a riveting mountain stage of the Tour de Romandie, Jørgen Nordhagen showcased his exceptional climbing skills, finishing fourth in a highly competitive field. The stage was intense from the outset, with an early breakaway that included Team Visma | Lease a Bike’s Pietro Mattio maintaining a noteworthy lead for a significant portion of the race.
As the riders faced the challenging climbs, including three ascents over La Rasse, the peloton gradually thinned out. The race took a dramatic turn on the final climb to Ovronnaz, where Tadej Pogačar surged ahead alongside Florian Lipowitz and Lenny Martinez. Nordhagen, undeterred, fought valiantly to stay in contention, managing to close the gap to a mere five seconds before catching up to the leaders.
“It was a great opportunity to show myself,” Nordhagen expressed after his strong performance. He described the climb as particularly suited to his strengths, and he felt grateful for the support of his team. “In the end, everything came together… I’m really grateful for the team around me and all the support,” he added.
Looking ahead, Nordhagen expressed his determination to maintain his form in the upcoming stages. “I hope to stay with the best riders over the next few days and see how the legs respond towards the end of the week. It’s obviously a very demanding race,” he remarked.
The atmosphere within Team Visma | Lease a Bike is optimistic.
