Le Tour de Langkawi: Gleb Syritsa Takes Second Place in Stage 2

Another day and another bunch sprint at Le Tour de Langkawi. Today, a massive sprint has decided Stage 2 on the streets of Raub: yesterday’s winner Gleb Syritsa finished third, while the Colombian Juan Sebastian Molano took the win. Later, Molano has been relegated for irregular sprint, so Syritsa became second at the stage.

“Well, once again our team did a great job for me, and I want to thank my teammates for this support. The final sprint was a fast one, maybe it was not the best option for me, but I did all I could and finished third. Perhaps, I missed the right moment to launch my sprint, but I am sure that will do better in the next stages,” – said Gleb Syritsa.

The Astana Qazaqstan Team had another solid day at Le Tour de Langkawi, working hard to control the daily break and protect race leader Gleb Syritsa. In the last kilometers, Astana’s riders did a nice job bringing Syritsa into a good position for the final sprint, where he finished second.

After two stages, Gleb Syritsa still holds the lead in the overall standings as well as in the point classification.
