Milan Menten Takes Podium in Etoile de Bessèges After Stage 3 Sprint
The third hilly stage of the Etoile de Bessèges saw an early breakaway escape on the Col des Brousses, with the peloton eventually reeling them in just before the final climb, leading to a bunch sprint.
In the sprint, Milan Menten secured a remarkable second-place finish, following a challenging week that included a crash in La Marseillaise. “I still felt the consequences of the crash last week,” Menten conceded. “But my parents were here and they gave me an extra boost, and in the end all the pieces came together,” he added.
Reflecting on his performance, Menten remarked, “I didn’t feel great in the sprint, due to the crash last week, but I knew from the training camp that my condition is there. It shows that sometimes you also have to be mentally strong.”
Overall, Menten’s podium finish was a testament to his resilience and determination, showcasing the importance of mental fortitude in the face of adversity.
