Martinez and Buitrago Headline Bahrain Victorious Line Up for Liège Bastogne Liège

# Strong Lineup of Bahrain Victorious for Liège Bastogne Liège

Bahrain Victorious is set to compete fiercely in the 112th edition of Liège Bastogne Liège, the final Monument of the Spring Classics and the Ardennes campaign. Scheduled for Sunday, April 26, the race will commence and conclude in Liège, stretching over a challenging 259.5km route that boasts 12 climbs and a total elevation gain of 4,395 metres.

Leading the charge for Bahrain Victorious are Lenny Martinez and Santiago Buitrago. Buitrago returns to a race where he has previously found success, having secured a spot on the podium in 2023. In contrast, Lenny Martinez is making his debut at this prestigious event. Although the young Frenchman faced difficulties at Flèche Wallonne, where he struggled on the Mur, he remains optimistic about his chances on a course that aligns perfectly with his punchy climbing style.

Providing vital support for Martinez and Buitrago is Pello Bilbao, who is competing in his farewell season and will be tackling this race for the last time. The Basque rider has a strong track record at this event, having finished in the top ten in 2024.

Completing the Bahrain Victorious lineup are Antonio Tiberi, Fran Miholjević, Afonso Eulálio, and Pau Miquel, all poised to contribute depth and tactical support throughout the grueling race. Their ability to react to moves and engage in key breakaways will be instrumental.

Sports Director Enrico Gasparotto shared his thoughts on the team’s prospects, stating: “We have the ambition to fight for the podium here, but we know it will be difficult with the level of competition and the favourites in the race. That said, we have a well-balanced team with depth, which gives us different options. There are key moments in this race where it can really open up, and we need to be ready to take our chances. It’s a long and demanding day, but the riders arrive in good condition, and with Buitrago’s previous podium here, we know what is possible.”

As the team gears up for one of cycling’s most prestigious events, all eyes will be on them as they aim for a strong performance in Liège.
