Team dsm-firmenich Claims 2nd Place in CRO Race with Tobias Lund Andresen, Pavel Bittner Finishes 4th

Team dsm-firmenich showcased their strength and team cohesion in the third stage of the CRO Race in Croatia. Tobias Lund Andresen secured another podium finish and also took the race lead, while Pavel Bittner finished closely behind in fourth place.

The stage covered a challenging 133.5-kilometer parcour with 2,000 elevation meters, leading to the finish in Opatija. Six riders managed to form a breakaway group early in the stage, while Team dsm-firmenich remained focused in the main group.

As the stage neared its conclusion, the peloton increased the pace and closed the gap on the breakaway. Oscar Onley, Frank van den Broek, and Matt Dinham from Team dsm-firmenich launched attacks, but were quickly reeled in by the peloton. With the finish line approaching, the team positioned Lund Andresen for a sprint finish, providing him with a strong lead-out from Bittner. However, Lund Andresen lost Bittner’s wheel but still showcased resilience to secure second place, with Bittner finishing just behind in fourth.

This strong performance in Croatia has resulted in Lund Andresen claiming the leader’s jersey, while Bittner secured a commendable sixth spot on the general classification.

Reflecting on the race, Lund Andresen praised his team’s strategy and effort, stating, “I want to thank the team as they did everything perfectly today and showed a great effort to keep me safe throughout the day.” Coach Joey van Rhee also expressed satisfaction with the team’s execution of their plan, adding, “The motivation is really here in the team and we’re looking forward to tomorrow’s stage in Croatia.”

With Lund Andresen in the race lead, Team dsm-firmenich is poised for further success in the upcoming stages of the CRO Race.
