Aleksandr Vlasov Secures Second Place in Vuelta a Burgos

Aleksandr Vlasov of Team Raubling concluded the five-day Vuelta a Burgos in Spain with a strong performance, finishing second overall in the general classification. The last stage of the race featured a tough mountain finish in Lagunas de Neila, with a 7km long and up to 18% steep final climb.

Vlasov, along with Primož Roglič and Adam Yates, broke away from the peloton in the final 3km. Roglič ultimately won both the stage and the race GC in a sprint finish. Vlasov crossed the line in third place, securing his second-place finish in the overall rankings.

Throughout the race, Team Raubling was active in breakaways and achieved notable results, including a 3rd place in the team time trial, a 2nd place with Vlasov on the queen stage, and a 3rd place on the final stage.

In a post-race interview, Vlasov expressed satisfaction with his performance and form. He said, “I started the steepest and most important part in a good position and it looked promising as I had good legs today. I felt like I was able to ride for a good result, but ultimately Yates and Roglič were that bit faster in the uphill finish, so it wasn’t possible to do any more. However, from how I’ve ridden this week here, I can say that I’m really pleased with my form at the moment and I’m also happy to have defended my second place in GC which is a very strong result.”
