Strong digs deep to retain race lead in Norway
# Corbin Strong Fights for Victory to Maintain Lead at Arctic Race of Norway
Corbin Strong narrowly missed securing his second stage win at the Arctic Race of Norway today, finishing in second place during a thrilling uphill battle against Tom Pidcock from the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team in Målselv. Despite this near miss, the Kiwi cyclist showcased his exceptional form by digging deep during the final climb, successfully holding Pidcock’s wheel—the only rider able to do so—retaining his overall race lead heading into the final stage.
With a six-second margin over Pidcock in the General Classification, Strong is backed by the solid support of his teammates as he sets his sights on securing victory in the crucial eight-lap circuit course in Tromsø. Should he achieve this, it would mark Strong’s second General Classification win in under two weeks, following his maiden victory at the Tour de Wallonie last week.
While Strong leads the race, he is not without formidable competition. Teammate Riley Sheehan, who sprinted to second place behind Strong in stage one, is currently sitting in fourth overall. Additionally, Hugo Houle adds to IPT’s strength in the standings, holding ninth place in the provisional top ten.
As the final stage approaches, all eyes will be on Strong and his teammates, who are eager to demonstrate their mid-season form and secure a memorable win in Norway.
