Israel – Premier Tech Makes Late Roster Changes for Tour de France Amidst COVID-19 Concerns

Israel – Premier Tech has announced a last-minute alteration to its Tour de France lineup due to COVID-19 concerns. Omer Goldstein, who was considered a high-risk close contact while traveling to Copenhagen, has been replaced by Canadian Guillaume Boivin.

Goldstein expressed his disappointment, saying, “It pains me deeply to give up the Tour de France that I worked so hard for and expected to do well at. It’s devastating really. But I do understand the team’s decision to not take the risk and endanger the health of my teammates. I wish my teammates the best for the next three weeks.”

Additionally, Daryl Impey, who was also identified as a close contact, has not yet joined the team’s bubble and will not be present at tonight’s team presentation. A decision regarding Impey’s participation in the race on Friday will be made tomorrow morning.

Sporting Manager Rik Verbrugghe has tested positive for COVID-19 and will return home before joining the race once it is safe.
