Vingegaard rewards strong team performance with new victory in sixth stage of Volta a Catalunya

# Vingegaard Claims Victory in Stage Six of Volta a Catalunya With Team Effort

Jonas Vingegaard celebrated yet another triumph at the sixth stage of the Volta a Catalunya, expressing his satisfaction with his team’s performance. “I’m very happy to take another win,” Vingegaard stated. “The goal was to go for the victory again today. As a team, we did a really great job throughout the entire stage, and it’s very rewarding to be able to finish it off for the team.”

Beginning the stage in the leader’s jersey, Vingegaard’s Dutch team, Team Visma | Lease a Bike, approached the day’s race with careful strategy. Bart Lemmen notably participated in a large breakaway group of fifteen riders, although they ultimately didn’t influence the battle for the stage’s win.

As the peloton climbed the challenging Coll de Pradell, Team Visma | Lease a Bike accelerated the pace, significantly thinning the group of competitors. Jørgen Nordhagen shone with a powerful push at the front, steering a select few into the stage’s final stretch.

On the last climb, Vingegaard showcased his exceptional form. With merely three kilometers remaining, he launched an attack from the favorites’ group, ultimately securing his fifth victory of the season.

Looking ahead, Vingegaard has his sights set on the final stage of the Spanish race, where he aims to defend his leader’s jersey. “Tomorrow might not be a stage that suits me perfectly, but if I get the chance to go for the win, I’ll definitely take it. Still, the main goal is to secure the overall victory,” he added.
