Tour du Poitou Charentes – Thibault Guernalec Finishes 4th Overall
Cyclist Thibault Guernalec secured a fourth-place finish in the Tour du Poitou Charentes, thanks to a fortunate turn of events. Guernalec moved up in the overall standings after the third-placed rider crashed and had to abandon the race.
Reflecting on his achievement, Guernalec commented, “I would have preferred to have achieved this performance on the pedal, but that’s also part of the sport of cycling. In any case, I wish the rider who fell a speedy recovery.”
Guernalec acknowledged the efforts of his teammates, Amaury and Ewen, who also attempted to make a move in the final stage of the race. However, Guernalec highlighted that the last day of racing in the Tour du Poitou Charentes usually doesn’t favor breakaways.
The overall results for Guernalec and his team were positive, with three riders finishing in the top twelve. Guernalec expressed his satisfaction, stating, “The week’s results were good both individually and for the team.”
The Tour du Poitou Charentes was part of a series of three stage races that were important objectives for the second half of the season. Guernalec’s next challenge will be the Tour of Luxembourg, which includes an individual time trial.
With successful performances in Wallonia and the Tour du Poitou Charentes, Guernalec is eager to continue his momentum in the upcoming race.
