Emerging talent Sebastian Berwick leads Israel – Premier Tech in Tour of Poland
Rising star Sebastian Berwick will be the team leader for Israel – Premier Tech in the upcoming Tour of Poland. Berwick, a 22-year-old Australian, has shown improvement in his form and is ready to take on the role of leading the team in a WorldTour race. He expressed his excitement, saying, “It is the first time I will be the man for the general classification in a WorldTour race and I am looking forward to taking on that role.”
Berwick will have the support of experienced WorldTour riders Matthias Brändle, Alex Dowsett, and Reto Hollenstein. In addition to them, Alessandro De Marchi, Mads Würtz Schmidt, and Taj Jones will also be part of the team.
Taj Jones, who impressed during the Sibiu Tour, will have the opportunity to showcase his sprinting abilities in a WorldTour stage race. The Tour of Poland will provide him with several chances to compete.
The Tour de Pologne, which comes after the Tour de France, is the first WorldTour race for the Israeli team. The race consists of seven stages and will conclude in Krakow. The general classification is expected to be decided on the penultimate day with an uphill time trial to the Rusinski ski station.
Most of the race in Poland is characterized by flat terrain.
