Anna Henderson Takes Silver at European Time Trial Championships
Anna Henderson, a 24-year-old British cyclist, had an impressive performance at the European time trial championships, earning a silver medal. Henderson strategically planned her race, moving up from third place at the first two checkpoints to second place in the final section. Reflecting on her achievement, Henderson shared, “The goal was to finish in the top five, so finishing second is very special for me. Now we are even with Christina (Schweinberger).”
Henderson described the time trial as the toughest of her career, acknowledging the challenging course and strong wind conditions. “I tried to keep the pace high and am very happy with my performance,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dutch cyclist Riejanne Markus, who had hoped for a strong finish, had to settle for seventh place due to injuries sustained from crashes in previous competitions. “I was a bit afraid of this all week. Against my better judgment, I hoped it would work out, but today, it just wasn’t meant to be,” Markus said.
Overall, Henderson’s silver medal win showcases her talent and determination in the world of cycling.
