The 2023 USA Cycling Collegiate Track National Championships concluded on Saturday, with Marian University and Colorado State University emerging as the top teams. Marian University, in the Varsity division, made a triumphant return after losing the title in 2022, while Colorado State University dominated the Club category.
Stephanie Lawrence of Marian University showcased her dominance in the sprints, setting the fast time for women and eventually claiming the national title. Mateo Marasas of Lindsey Wilson College emerged as the men’s sprint champion.
In the team pursuit event, Colorado Mesa University’s women’s squad emerged victorious, while Marian University took home the gold in the men’s event.
The Scratch Races provided exciting mass start racing, with Emiliano Mirafuentes of Savannah College of Art & Design and Stephanie Lawrence of Marian University securing the top spots in the men’s and women’s events, respectively.
Dillon Geary of Lindenwood University claimed the gold in the Men’s Individual Pursuit, while Elizabeth Stevenson and Mairen Lawson of Marian University took first and second place, respectively, in the Women’s Individual Pursuit.
Stephanie Lawrence continued to dominate in the Women’s 500-meter Time Trial, while Mateo Marasas emerged as the fastest in the Men’s 1,000-meter Time Trial.
In the Points Race, Dillon Geary secured his second win of the event in the men’s category, while Kate Seiler of Colorado Mesa University emerged as the winner in the women’s category.
Marian University reclaimed the Co-Ed Team Sprint title, outperforming the competition.
The ultimate award at the championships, the Omnium Award, went to Stephanie Lawrence and Brody McDonald of Milligan University. Marian University emerged as the top team in the Varsity category, while Colorado State University dominated in the Club category.
The impressive performances by Marian University and Colorado State University cemented their status as the top teams in the collegiate track cycling scene.
