Barré strong sixth in tough queen stage at Boucles de la Mayenne

# Louis Barré Shines with Sixth Place Finish in Intense Boucles de la Mayenne Stage

In a fiercely competitive environment, Louis Barré of Team Visma | Lease a Bike secured an impressive sixth place in the queen stage of the Boucles de la Mayenne. The race unfolded at a relentless pace from start to finish, culminating in a thrilling finale that saw Marco Brenner of Tudor Pro Cycling Team launch a decisive attack with 25 kilometers to go. Barré, demonstrating his quick reflexes, immediately joined the effort.

However, with just 10 kilometers left, he was reeled back in as the race heated up with repeated attacks. Once regrouped, the young French rider reestablished his presence at the front of the pack and managed to hold his position through the end.

Reflecting on his performance, Barré stated, “In the sprint I was a bit too far back, but I had a really good feeling throughout the stage. It feels good to start my season like this.” His solid showing also earned him bonus seconds, putting him at seventh in the general classification.

Team sport director Robert Wagner expressed satisfaction with the day’s results: “I’m very happy with how the guys rode today. We raced offensively on this tough course and I saw a very strong team.” He hailed the younger riders for their efforts, noting Ashlin Barry’s longest race yet and Pietro Mattio’s attempts to assist teammate Matthew Brennan during the final climb.

As the team gears up for the next stage, they will return to Laval for a flat 147-kilometer course that is expected to favor another bunch sprint. Barré’s performance in this demanding event bodes well for the rest of the season, leaving fans eager for what’s to come.
