# Rosita Reijnhout Achieves Impressive Ninth Place Finish at Luxembourg Race

Rosita Reijnhout showcased her grit and determination during a challenging race in Luxembourg, securing a commendable ninth place amidst a highly competitive field. With approximately 40 kilometers remaining, a breakaway formed that initially excluded any riders from Team Visma | Lease a Bike. However, as the race progressed, Reijnhout found herself in a select group of around 12 competitors vying for the stage victory.

Sports director Rutger Tijssen praised the team’s performance despite the initial setback. “Our goal was to win the intermediate classification, and we achieved that with Nienke in the sprint classification. The girls did a really good job. We only started with four riders in this race, and if you miss the move in the breakaway, it becomes very difficult and you just fall a bit short to close the gap,” he remarked.

The race was fiercely contested in the closing stages, with Reijnhout holding her ground against the attackers. She expressed satisfaction with her performance, stating, “I haven’t had to sprint like that very often, but I made the best of it. We are here this weekend with a small team, but a very strong one.”

Reflecting on the team’s overall effort, Tijssen acknowledged a successful outing while noting the potential for further improvement. “On the one hand I am happy with how we rode, raced, and communicated, but there is always room for improvement,” he added.

The team looks forward to another challenging stage tomorrow at the Festival Elsy Jacobs, with expectations leaning towards a more conventional race scenario. The upcoming 120-kilometer course is anticipated to culminate in a bunch sprint, providing fast finishers another opportunity to shine in the finale.
