# Nordhagen Maintains Strong Position in Tour de Romandie General Classification
In an exhilarating stage that showcased aggressive racing from the outset, Jørgen Nordhagen emerged with resilience, maintaining his solid fourth place in the general classification of the Tour de Romandie. The stage commenced at a brisk pace, quickly thinning the peloton as the riders tackled demanding climbs that led to the formation of various strong groups.
Tadej Pogačar dominated the day, executing a remarkable solo effort to clinch the stage victory. Behind him, the chasing groups scrambled to minimize their losses amid a fast-paced finale. Nordhagen, riding with determination, found himself in the third group and was forced to dig deep to stay competitive alongside the race favorites. Reflecting on Nordhagen’s performance, Team Visma’s sports director, Gaëtan Pons, expressed satisfaction with the young cyclist’s efforts. “Jørgen feels really good. The original goal was a top-5 finish, but if he can achieve a podium at this WorldTour level in Romandie, that would be amazing for his young career and it shows a lot of positive things for this team,” Pons stated.
