# Veenhoven Rides to Fourth Place After Team’s Stellar Performance in Simac Ladies Tour Echelon Stage

In a thrilling third stage of the Simac Ladies Tour, Nienke Veenhoven showcased her cycling prowess, securing a commendable fourth place after a strong team effort. The challenging stage, marked by blustery conditions, saw the black-and-yellow squad deftly maneuver through the race from the start. With teammates Margaux Vigié and Lieke Nooijen, Veenhoven joined an elite echelon of eighteen riders that quickly separated from the rest.

As the leading group expanded their lead, they set the stage for an intense battle for victory in Zeewolde’s streets. In the crucial final kilometers, both Vigié and Nooijen dedicated themselves to supporting Veenhoven as she surged toward the finish line.

Reflecting on her performance, Veenhoven said, “At first I missed the echelon, but luckily I was able to get back on… it was such a hectic and tough day that I wasn’t really thinking about [control in the sprint] in the moment.”

The next stage promises to be special for the 21-year-old from Oostzaan. With excitement brewing, she declared, “Tomorrow is going to be really nice, because it’s basically a home race for me. I’m really looking forward to it.”
