Vigié fourth in second stage of Simac Ladies Tour

# Vigié Secures Fourth Place in Thrilling Second Stage of Simac Ladies Tour

In a gripping second stage of the Simac Ladies Tour that began and ended in Gennep, Limburg, cyclist Margaux Vigié showcased her prowess by finishing fourth. The stage was marked by challenging crosswinds that tested the riders’ resilience and strategy throughout the course.

Approximately sixty kilometers from the finish line, the peloton fragmented, resulting in a breakaway group of eleven riders, including Vigié. The group’s lead proved steady as they increased their advantage, setting the stage for a dramatic sprint finish.

Reflecting on the performance, sports director Jan Boven remarked, “It was very tricky today. There were some exposed sections along the course, and one of them turned out to be decisive. We saw the split happening from the team car, and Margaux was alert enough to be there. She’s been in very good shape recently, so we gave her the trust. She launched her own sprint at the end and finished fourth. That’s a strong result.”

Despite Vigié’s strong finish, the spotlight was taken by Lorena Wiebes from Team SD Worx – Protime, who claimed the stage victory with a time of 02:55:39. Following her were Clara Copponi of Lidl – Trek and Megan Jastrab from Team Picnic PostNL, who secured second and third places, respectively.
