Third for Itamar Einhorn at Rund um Köln
Itamar Einhorn recorded his fifth podium finish of the 2025 season on Sunday as he finished an impressive third at Rund um Köln.
The former Israeli road race champion produced a brilliant sprint to finish just behind winner Matthew Brennan (VLD) and Tour de France stage winner Biniam Girmay (IWA) in Germany’s oldest one-day race.
“I’m super happy with today – I’m expecting more to come,” says Einhorn. “The race started quite hard, especially as some teams including Tudor split the race. After we caught them, it was a bit more controlled. It was harder on the steep part of the climbs, but nobody really went full gas most of the day.

“Coming into the last 50 kilometers, there were only about 50 riders in the front group, and the team had given me a free card to play in this race from the beginning. Approaching the finish, I was positioning myself, and I got on Brennan’s wheel. From there, my sprint was quite good – he is super fast, I tried to pass him, but maybe I left it too late.”
