Luca Mozzato 7th on stage 3

“At the briefing, we had placed our bets on Jenthe Biermans and Luca Mozzato in the event of a sprint finish. It was a nervy day, with lots of crashes and cobbled walls. Our riders coped well and were present in the finish. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team did a good job on Luca’s behalf right up to the flamme rouge, reeling him in. Unfortunately, in the last 500 meters, he was heckled and suffered waves. Despite this, he rallied in the final metres to take 7th place behind some of the world’s best sprinters. Tomorrow is the tough queen stage for the puncheurs. A new opportunity for our sprinters will present itself on Sunday in Brussels.”
