Egan Bernal Secures Second Place in Queen Stage at Volta Catalunya
Egan Bernal showcased his tenacity in the penultimate stage of Volta Catalunya, claiming second place and moving up to third in the General Classification standings for the upcoming race in Barcelona. The intense race saw Bernal making an elite group of 12 riders after a split on the Coll de Pradell, followed by a challenging final 30 kilometers.
Tadej Pogacar led the way solo on the second-to-last climb, with Bernal closely behind in third. Bernal’s strategic descending and relentless riding allowed him to catch up to Mikel Landa to secure the second position on the road. The final climb proved to be a close battle between Bernal and Landa, with the Colombian sprinting to the finish line to clinch second place on the day.
