“It’s very satisfying, because I was able to manage my climb well on a very difficult stage during which the Visma Lease a Bike team rode at a high tempo throughout. The final part of the stage was very fast, and today I didn’t break anything, being well placed. I was alongside some “champions”, but I lost two places in the overall classification because Pidcock and Kamna finished ahead of me on this stage, which ended at the summit of Monte Petrano. It’s a shame, but I think there are a lot of positives for me to take away from this Tirreno-Adriatico 2024, even if, tomorrow, of course, there’s still one last stage to go.
