Quentin Pacher Secures Podium Finish at O Gran Camiño
The third stage of O Gran Camiño saw Quentin Pacher making a mark by clinching a podium finish. Pacher utilized his sprinting prowess to secure third place in the stage, which was once again dominated by Jonas Vingegaard. As the riders gear up for the queen stage, Pacher, along with Lenny Martinez and David Gaudu, sits comfortably in the top-10 of the general classification.
According to Pacher, “We didn’t expect the GC riders to move from the first climb, but that’s what happened.” The stage witnessed intense action right from the beginning with a group of ten riders, primarily comprising of favorites, breaking away early on. Despite the challenges posed by the breakaway, which included notable names like David de la Cruz and Egan Bernal, the race eventually returned to a more traditional pattern.
Pacher reflected on his performance stating, “I’ve got a good dynamic again”, indicating his satisfaction with his current form. The stage unfolded with a fierce battle, especially in the final climbs where the chasing group, featuring riders like Gaudu, Martinez, and Pacher, strived to bridge the gap with the breakaway leaders.
While Vingegaard seized the stage victory with a solo effort, Pacher strategically positioned himself by taking Carlos Canal’s wheel to secure a commendable third place. The French rider’s podium finish marked a significant achievement in his season. Expressing contentment with his performance, Pacher emphasized the importance of focusing on the general classification goal, which remains the top priority for the team.
As the general classification stands, Martinez, Pacher, and Gaudu hold promising positions, gearing up for the ultimate challenge in the upcoming summit finish at Monte Aloia. With the race poised for an exciting conclusion, the riders are prepared to leave it all on the road in pursuit of victory.
