Antoine Huby Shows Promising Form at Ardèche Classic
At the Ardèche Classic held in Guilherand-Granges, French neo-pro Antoine Huby showcased a strong performance on his first European outing of the season. Despite the challenging course, Huby managed to secure a commendable 12th place finish, marking a positive start to his European campaign.
The race featured a demanding route encompassing eight climbs over a distance of 168.6 kilometers. The crucial moment of the race unfolded on the penultimate climb, Saint-Romain-de-Lerps, where a breakaway group of four riders established a significant lead over the peloton.
Despite concerted efforts from a chasing group that included riders from Soudal Quick-Step, the breakaway managed to maintain their advantage, ultimately resulting in Juan Ayuso of UAE Team Emirates clinching the victory. Huby’s strong performance and positioning amidst the challenging competition bode well for his upcoming races with the team.
Reflecting on his performance, Huby expressed his satisfaction with the race, stating, “It was a hard race, but I like this type of race, with a tough beginning and final part. It was great to compete in front of my home supporters, I was very motivated and I’m content with how things went.” Huby also acknowledged the support of his teammate Paul and emphasized his determination in tackling the demanding ascents towards the end of the race.
As Antoine Huby continues to build on this positive momentum, his performance at the Ardèche Classic sets a promising tone for his future endeavors with the team.
