Australian Champion, Ruby Roseman-Gannon, is all set to embark on her cobbled classics campaign at the prestigious Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. This race, which represents the beginning of the European season, holds a special place for many in the cycling world. Accompanied by a formidable team, Roseman-Gannon and her Liv AlUla Jayco teammates are geared up for the challenging 127.1km race through the Flanders region, featuring eight climbs and five cobbled sectors.
Excitedly looking ahead, Ruby Roseman-Gannon expressed, “I think we have a strong team and the girls have been riding well in Australia and UAE, so we can take this momentum into the classics. Personally, these races are a big goal, so I’m super motivated to give it everything I have.”
Martin Vestby, the Sport Director, also shared his expectations for the event, remarking, “As we know, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is the first big, cobbled classic of the season and more like a small World Championship. I expect, like every year for it to be a hard race but we have a strong team at the start line.”
The Liv AlUla Jayco lineup for Omloop Het Nieuwsblad includes a blend of experience and promising talent, comprising Amber Pate, Georgie Howe, Jeanne Korevaar, Letizia Paternoster, Ruby Roseman-Gannon, and Teniel Campbell. With a wealth of knowledge and strong determination, the team is poised for an impressive performance in this prestigious race.
The team’s Sport Director Martin Vestby emphasized, “We´re aiming quite high and we see an opportunity to get on the podium. Of course, having Ruby as our Australian Champion and in great form in January, she´ll be an important card to play.”
