Tim van Dijke Achieves 12th Place in Individual Time Trial at UAE Tour

Dutch cyclist Tim van Dijke from Team Visma | Lease a Bike showcased a strong performance at the UAE Tour’s second stage, an individual time trial on Al Hudayriyat Island. The 23-year-old rider set a good time, eventually securing the 12th place.

According to sports director Maarten Wynants, “Tim rode a good time trial, which suits him well. His brother Mick van Dijke, Loe van Belle, and Bart Lemmen also finished in the top thirty.” The team expressed satisfaction with the results, acknowledging Bart’s inability to leverage his strengths in the short, straight course.

Despite facing challenges from a previous crash, Hungarian time trial champion Attila Valter delivered a commendable performance, finishing 22nd. Wynants expressed optimism about Valter’s performance, stating, “That certainly offers great prospects for the stages ahead in the coming days. We are looking forward to that.”

The stage was ultimately won by Brandon McNulty from UAE Team Emirates, with Tim van Dijke and his teammates positioning well in the rankings. The team’s overall performance in the time trial indicates a promising start to the UAE Tour, showcasing the riders’ capabilities in this discipline and setting high expectations for the upcoming stages.
