Alberto Bruttomesso sprints to 3rd on stage 1 Tour of Antalya

Bahrain Victorious Clinches 3rd Place in Tour of Antalya Stage 1 Sprint

Bahrain Victorious made an impressive start in the Tour of Antalya, with Alberto Bruttomesso securing a podium finish in the sprint finish of Stage 1. Bruttomesso, the 20-year-old Italian rider, claimed 3rd place in the 135-kilometer stage from Side to Antalya, narrowly missing out on the top spot.

The team’s Sports Director, Enrico Poitschke, praised the efforts of the entire team, stating, “It was a good start for the team here. The plan was to let a small group go in the breakaway, and we worked well to control them. In the final, we could count on Scott and Govekar to do a very good lead-out, and they did it excellently.”

Bruttomesso acknowledged the team’s collective effort, saying, “I want to praise the team because everybody did a fantastic job throughout the day. Ahmed (Madan) worked alongside Alpecin and Corratec all day to control the breakaway and keep the race closed.”

Looking ahead to Stage 2, the team is preparing for more challenges, including significant climbs. Sports Director Poitschke is optimistic about the team’s performance and looks forward to the opportunity for Matevz Govekar to contend for a stage win if Stage 2 unfolds as a sprint.
