Visma | Lease a Bike Women Show Promise in Second Stage of Tour Down Under

The second stage of the Tour Down Under in Australia witnessed the Visma | Lease a Bike Women’s team riding from Glenelg to Stirling, with a notable performance despite challenges. Following the race, rider Maud Oudeman shared her thoughts on the team’s efforts, “We had a good day. After yesterday, we decided to be a bit more aggressive. We tried to stretch out the peloton when the wind was strong. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as we had hoped, but the team’s effort was good.”

Oudeman highlighted the team’s progress, stating, “With an average age of 20, we are the youngest team here. With each race, we are making progress. Coming here with five U23 riders is excellent. We can be proud of that.” She further expressed excitement about the upcoming challenges, “Tomorrow, we have another challenging stage with a finish on Willunga Hill. The team spirit is already good. We are looking forward to it.”

Despite just missing out on the sprint, the Visma | Lease a Bike Women riders are determined and remain optimistic about their future performances. The team’s perseverance and dedication are evident, signifying strong potential and a promising future in the women’s cycling domain.
