Team Jayco AlUla Dominates Australian Road Race Championship: Plapp Claims Third Title
Australian cycling team, Jayco AlUla, demonstrated an overwhelming performance in the Australian Road Race Championships, with Luke Plapp securing his third consecutive title. Plapp and teammate Chris Harper showcased their dominance by crossing the finish line together, with Kelland O’Brien securing the final podium spot.
Describing the race, Plapp expressed his gratitude towards his team, stating, “The Aussies are back, GreenEDGE is back! That was amazing out there, I think from the gun we had everything under control and me and Harper had a great time out there.”
Harper also emphasized the team’s collective effort, asserting, “Plappy was absolutely flying at the end there, so I had to tell him to ease up a little bit for me, but it’s a great day and a good hit out for us going to Tour Down Under next week as well.”
The team’s remarkable performance was further highlighted by O’Brien, who sprinted to secure the third position, solidifying the podium sweep for Team Jayco AlUla.
The 2024 Australian Road Race Championships saw a historic day for GreenEDGE Cycling, achieving its third podium clean sweep. In total, the team amassed nine medals, including five gold medals across the six elite races.
