Fem van Empel’s Fourth Place Finish at World Cup Hulst: A Display of Mental Resilience
Fem van Empel’s competition at the World Cup Hulst showcased her determination and mental resilience. Commenting on her performance, van Empel stated, “My body still feels far from optimal due to various ailments.” She reflected on the race, saying, “I don’t want to use it as an excuse, but my body still feels far from optimal due to various ailments. It’s a combination of a knee injury and recovering from a cold.” Despite the challenges, van Empel commended her mental resilience, remarking, “But I can only praise my mental resilience because I didn’t let my head down and kept fighting.”
