Ben Zwiehoff Achieves Second Place in the Tour of Türkiye

BORA – hansgrohe had a successful Tour of Türkiye, securing second and fourth places in the GC, a stage win, and the team classification. The challenging mountain-top finish on the Babadağ in the third stage proved pivotal in determining the overall standings. Ben Zwiehoff’s impressive climb propelled him to second place, which he held onto until the final day in Istanbul. This is Zwiehoff’s second podium finish this season, following his second place in the Czech Tour. Reflecting on his achievement, Zwiehoff stated, “I am very happy with my second place. We knew that it would be very difficult to get the jersey from Lutsenko. But we tried everything and attacked again and again every day. Overall, it was a super race for us. For good reason, we won the team classification and showed that we are a super strong squad.”

Florian Lipowitz finished in fourth place, while Anton Palzer finished in tenth place, completing the excellent team result for BORA – hansgrohe. The team’s dominant performance on the fifth stage, with Nico Denz winning ahead of Matt Walls in the demanding final of Bodrum, further highlighted their strength.

Bernie Eisel, Sport Director at the Tour of Türkiye, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “All in all, it was a positive end to the season here in Turkey. The stages were challenging, but the guys rode very well. We also attacked again today on the final stage and tried everything. With the stage win and three men in the top 10, we left our mark on this race.”
