Team Bahrain Victorious Looking to End Season on a High in China

Team Bahrain Victorious Aims for Success at the Tour of Guangxi in China

Jonathan Milan and Rainer Kepplinger to Lead Team Bahrain Victorious

Team Bahrain Victorious is gearing up for the Tour of Guangxi in China, aiming to end their season on a high note. The six-stage race, which covers a total distance of 958.8km, will take place from October 12th to 17th. The team is hopeful about their chances, with sprinter Jonathan Milan and GC contender Rainer Kepplinger leading the charge.

According to Gorazd Štangelj, the head sports director, the race favors the sprinters with four stages that are likely to end in bunch sprints. However, there is also a hilly stage where punchy riders might try to make a move. The queen stage, stage 4, will be the battleground for the overall classification.

Štangelj expressed confidence in the team, stating, “With Jonathan Milan, it looks like we are in a good place to fight every day for the stage win. We also have Rainer Kepplinger. He will try to ride Top 10 in GC, which would be a good result for us.”

Joining Milan and Kepplinger will be a strong supporting cast including Filip Maciejuk, Cameron Scott, Dušan Rajović, Ahmed Madan, and Johan Price-Pejtersen. The team is young but has raced together before, giving them an edge in their pursuit of success.

Štangelj added, “We don’t know the start list yet, but many good sprinters will surely be on the start. It’s going to be a big show. Let’s say it’s this season’s last important race for WorldTour teams.”

The return of the Tour of Guangxi after a three-year hiatus is welcomed by Team Bahrain Victorious, who are eager to showcase their skills to the Chinese fans and achieve some notable results.

As Štangelj concluded, “We are glad that after this Corona period, a beautiful race like Guangxi came back, and we can again show Chinese fans our team jersey and hopefully some good results.”
