Mischa Bredewold Dominates the European Women’s Elite Championship

Mischa Bredewold from the Netherlands emerged victorious in the European Elite Women’s Championship held at Col du Vam. Bredewold, just 23 years old, showcased her prowess by leading her team and successfully countering all attacks throughout the race. Her team’s control and strategic efforts resulted in a selection for the demanding five-lap final on the continental event circuit.

The intensity of the race escalated in the final stages as the Dutch, Italians, and Marlen Reusser, the Time-Trial champion, made several attacks.

With approximately ten kilometers remaining, a well-timed attack from the Netherlands propelled Mischa Bredewold into a slight lead over the leading group. She maintained this gap until the finish line, crossing 3″ ahead of her compatriot and reigning European champion, Lorena Wiebes, along with her teammates. Completing the podium were Lorena Wiebes and reigning world champion Lotte Kopecky from Belgium.
