Team Jayco AlUla Announces Merger with Liv Racing TeqFind for 2024 Season
Team Jayco AlUla, the UCI World Team, is set to expand its women’s roster for the 2024 season with the merger of Liv Racing TeqFind. This merger will bring together talented riders, including Quinty Ton, Silke Smulders, Jeanne Korevaar, and Caroline Andersson, to form a stronger and more diverse team.
The merger is a significant step towards the team’s future ambitions and will combine the strengths of both World Teams. Team Jayco AlUla General Manager, Brent Copeland, expressed his excitement about the team’s expansion, stating, “These four new riders we have joining all have such diverse skillsets, and I am sure it will enable us to step up to another level in 2024.”
Eric van den Boom, the team manager of Liv Racing TeqFind, emphasized the shared philosophy and vision of the two teams, stating, “It’s all about scouting talents at an early stage, enabling them to develop to their maximum potential and ultimately winning races with them.”
Caroline Andersson, one of the riders joining Team Jayco AlUla, spoke highly of the merger, saying, “By merging, you combine forces and create synergy. I am convinced that something very beautiful can come out of this.”
Jeanne Korevaar, another rider joining the team, expressed her excitement about the merger and the opportunities it presents. “Two cycling cultures are coming together: Australian and Dutch. Both have their own distinctive characteristics and many strong aspects. Combining them can create new impulses,” Korevaar said.
Silke Smulders, who had a strong season with Liv Racing TeqFind, expressed her confidence in the new team environment, stating, “In the new team environment, where Liv Racing TeqFind will be woven into the existing, professional structure of Team Jayco AlUla, I should be able to grow as a rider.”
Quinty Ton, who had a breakthrough performance in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad last season, expressed her enthusiasm for continuing her journey with familiar teammates and staff members at Team Jayco AlUla. “By combining the knowledge and experience of two familiar teams in women’s cycling, the possibilities may reach a little further,” Ton said.
The merger of Liv Racing TeqFind and Team Jayco AlUla represents a significant step forward for women’s cycling and showcases the commitment of both teams to talent development and achieving success.
