Sepp Kuss adapts to his overall lead in the race, praises Remco Evenepoel’s performance

In the latest stage of the race, Sepp Kuss continues to solidify his overall lead and adjusts to the new position as the race progresses. Speaking about the stage, Kuss acknowledges the impressive performance of Remco Evenepoel, who has been consistently going for stage wins.

“It was another good stage by Remco Evenepoel. I was talking to him on the startline and I told him: ‘You know, we can’t let you go in the break every day to get back all the time you lost.’ He’s still far back and he told me he’s just going for stage wins. It’s good to see.”

Kuss reflects on the unpredictability of these types of stages, where the race dynamics can change in an instant. The stage started off with a rapid pace and in the final climbs, Alpecin made a push for the stage win, resulting in high speeds throughout the day.

“These kinds of stages, you never know how they’ll play out, but it was a really fast start, then the last two climbs there was a bit of pacing from Alpecin. They were trying to go for the stage win so the speed was high all day. It’s always like that the day before the rest day. Everybody wants to let out all the energy.”

As Kuss continues to hold the overall lead, he acknowledges that he is gradually adapting to the new position in the race. With each passing stage, he is becoming more comfortable in his role as the leader.

“I’m getting used to the overall lead little by little!”

Sepp Kuss’s ability to adapt and maintain his position at the top will be crucial in the upcoming stages of the race. The competition intensifies as the competition goes on, and Kuss’s skills and experience will be put to the test.
