Maryland Cycling Classic Presents Full Schedule of Family-Friendly Events
The Maryland Cycling Classic presented by UnitedHealthcare has released its full schedule of events for Labor Day weekend in Baltimore, Md. The weekend will feature a variety of free activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a community “Bike Jam,” street festivals, and a Health & Wellness Expo. The highlight of the weekend will be America’s top-ranked professional road cycling race on Sunday, September 3.
The second annual event will kick off with a community enrichment day on Thursday, August 31, where professional cyclists and community ambassadors will visit local elementary schools to educate children on bike and helmet safety. On Saturday, September 2, fans will have the opportunity to ride parts of the professional road course during the UHCCF Bridges of Hope Ride, the official charity ride of the event benefiting the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation.
Other events throughout the weekend include a “Welcome Reception Celebrating African American Achievements in Pro Cycling,” a team introduction, and a Health & Wellness Expo on race day. The race will start in Baltimore County and finish in Baltimore, with an awards presentation at the Colwell Center Plaza.
The Maryland Cycling Classic presented by UnitedHealthcare is part of a four-day weekend community celebration of health and wellness, featuring participatory events, an interactive festival, and local food and drinks. The race is sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and USA Cycling, and is endorsed by Maryland and Baltimore Civic Leaders.
