Champoussin Disappointed with Second Place in Tour de Suisse 6th Stage
Clément Champoussin expressed his disappointment at finishing second in the sixth stage of the Tour de Suisse. In an interview, he said, “I saw straight away that Nico Denz had passed me at the finish line in the sprint for victory. Unfortunately, I didn’t need much to win, which is a pity because I had a good sprint… I’m still lacking a bit of rhythm, having only resumed racing on May 31 after my crash at the Tour of the Alps.”
Bob Jungels, on the other hand, secured 15th place in the stage and moved up to eleventh place overall in the Tour de Suisse. He is currently 1 minute 36 seconds behind the race leader, Jakob Fuglsang.
In other news, Andrea Vendrame finished tenth in stage 2 of La Route d’Occitanie – La Dépêche du Midi, moving up to sixth place in the overall classification. The stage was shortened to 35 kilometers due to a heatwave alert in the Tarn section.
