Jens Reynders Joins Israel – Premier Tech for 2023 Season as Key Support Rider for Classics
Belgian cyclist Jens Reynders has been welcomed to the Israel – Premier Tech team for the 2023 season as a key support rider for the Classics. Reynders, who turned pro in 2021 and has shown impressive performances in the last two seasons with Sport Vlaanderen – Baloise, is expected to further develop as a rider and contribute to the team’s success in the Classics.
IPT Sporting Manager Rik Verbrugghe expressed his satisfaction with Reynders’ addition to the team, emphasizing his potential and work ethic. Verbrugghe said, “Jens is a determined and hard-working rider, who has steadily progressed in his first two years in the professional peloton. He will join our key Classics squad to ride in support of our leaders, while also taking on more responsibility in these races, and continuing to progress and take opportunities to win smaller races.”
Reynders, who is excited to race in IPT colors and reunite with Verbrugghe, believes that he is ready for the next step in his career. He mentioned his successful performances in races such as Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Hungary and expressed his confidence that Israel – Premier Tech will help him improve his race tactics. Reynders also highlighted the guidance and mentorship he expects to receive from Verbrugghe, who was his national team coach in the past and played a significant role in his development as a rider.
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Reynders is determined to strengthen himself during the off-season and benefit from the support and expertise of the team. He hopes to learn from experienced riders like Sep Vanmarcke and excel in the Classic races in the long-term.
