Israel – Premier Tech Academy Sets Lofty Goals for the 2023 Season
The Israel – Premier Tech Academy is gearing up for the 2023 season with a new manager, Jens Blatter, and a team of 11 promising riders. Blatter, a seasoned manager with past success in developing young riders, has set an ambitious goal for the team: to become the world’s best young Continental Team.
Israel – Premier Tech Academy had a successful season last year, with six victories and three young riders making the jump to the pro ranks. Building on this success, the team has recruited Blatter, who is confident in his ability to lead the team to new heights.
Blatter, who previously managed the Groupama-FDJ Continental team, expressed his confidence in his new role: “With all the experience I gained in the past years, and with the young talents we have, I have no doubt that we can reach this ambitious goal.”
Notably, three riders from Israel Cycling Academy, Marco Frigo, Mason Hollyman, and Derek Gee, have already moved onto IPT, and more are expected to follow in their footsteps next season.
Gordon Fraser, the team’s manager from last season, will focus on scouting talent in North America this year. IPT Manager Kjell Carlstrom spoke highly of Fraser’s role in the team’s success in 2022, stating that Fraser will provide valuable insight into the talent pool in North America.
In terms of the team’s roster, several riders are considered top candidates to move up to the pro team at the end of the season, including Israelis Nadav Raisberg, Oded Kogut, Roi Weinberg, Rotem Tene, Canadian Riley Pickrell, and Australian Alastair Mackellar, who recently won the Australian championships in both road and ITT.
Among the new signings for the Academy team is Canadian Dylan Bibic, one of the world’s best young track talents who has won several championships.
The team will kick off their season with an upcoming race in the UCI 1.1 Classica Comunitat Valenciana.
The new team roster for the Israel – Premier Tech Academy includes Nadav Raisberg, Oded Kogut, Rotem Tene, Roi Weinberg, Alastair Mackellar, Riley Pickrell, Lahav Davidzon, Cole Kessler, Aviv Bental, Jonatan Abudraham, Dylan Bibic, Luca d’Hollander, Daniel Lima, Jesse Maris, Pau Marti, Carson Mattern, Viggo Moore, Francisco Peñuela, and Radovan Stec.
